This qualification reflects the role of employees such as drillers’ assistants who undertake a prescribed range of functions involving known routines and procedures and who take some responsibility for the quality of work outcomes. It is an entry level certificate that new personnel would be enrolled in to commence a career in exploration drilling. The course provides awareness and understanding of working and communicating within a team, and the basic operational activities of a Drilling Offsider.
